Exclusive Interview With His Holiness The Pickle Priest
Who is the pickle priest? Millions of people have seen his face splash across their For You Page, but where did he come from? And how did he become a priest of pickles? The Pickle Priest, otherwise known as actor Dan P Castricone, is a Renaissance Faire social media sensation. His videos of selling holy pickles, blessing babies with wooden spoons and performing weddings from behind his pickle barrel stand have gone viral, creating a veil of mystery and intrigue around the man himself.
I sat down with the pickle priest for an exclusive interview to find out more about the man behind the spoon.

What do folks call you beyond the Pickle Priest? Father Pickle? His Pickle Holiness? Steve Pickle?
Lord Pickle Priest on occasion, as I am legally a Lord in my own right.
What began your spiritual pickling journey into the priesthood?
The long spiritual road of the Pickle Faith began with the hunger-filled voids in the hearts of Mortals. [They] desired more from thy un-blessed pickles, and more from thy non-agricultural Priests. THAT is the wrong I must right. Additionally, the original pickle vendor was sick that day.
A video on Tiktok explains your connection to another knight at the festival, The Lady Angel of Azarath. Apparently she was the one to first share your rituals on social media. Tell me about your relationship.
The Lady Angel of Azarath to the Pickle Priest, is of Renaissance Festival relation, of social media consultation, of bodily protection, (she is of the tough breed) and lastly, a homie of the ride or die variety. Lady Angel of Azarath rides for The Pickle Faith, for the Renaissance way of life, and most importantly, she rides for the common folk. Impressive womanhood as well.
How does one become ordained as a pickle priest?
They don't. The pickle priesthood is a mantle of the chosen, not the willing.
What is it about the Gospel of the Pickle that has captured the hearts of so many?
I did no capturing. The devotees of the Pickle Faith simply laid dormant, awaiting the rise of one who would lead them.
What is the most divine pickle?
The most divine pickle is the pickle held between man and wife upon marital union as I bless said pickle.

What fascinated you about the pickle priest, enough to immortalize him on tiktok for millions of viewers?
The Pickle Priest’s unwavering devotion to his sacred craft is something truly rare in this world. His pickles, his blessings, and his oddly spiritual commitment to brine transcend mere hobby—they are a calling. The profound sense of duty he carries made me realize his legacy must be immortalized across the realm for all to see. He is a unique character that stands out to my heart across all my travels, as the passion, charisma, and unintentional hilarity to his calling are far greater than most I have seen before. If a man can be that devoted to cucumbers, then truly, anything is possible.
